Colour coating of steel using PVD achieves an excellent result - PVD Gold is a favoured colour for many high end consumer (and business products). Materials which can be PVD coated include;
• Stainless steel
• Titanium
• Architectural steel
• All other steels
The range of PVD colors are achieved by depositing different metals with reactive gases to form metal nitrides and metal carbonitrides. Decorative PVD coatings add real benefit to metal surfaces - hardening, scratch resistance and many other properties. Avoiding paint finishes on metal is achieved through applying hard colour coatings.

Surface finish
Surface finish of the part to be coated does play a significant role in the appearance and final colour obtained. PVD coatings can be deposited onto a polished, brushed, blasted, rumbled or satin finish as well as ground or machined finishes. These different finishes will affect the final visual appearance of the colour.
Popular colours available include gold, light gold, anthracite black, gunmetal, bronze and champagne.
